Happy Little Christmas, and other stuff

HAPPY LITTLE CHRISTMAS! This is the family that came for Little Christmas, the Gunnels. Don't you just love the girl's picture? I look sick and Maddie's eyes are closed. Obviously we will never be models.

The boy's picture is better, but I somehow got in it"thanks dad" and Reid looks like he has been watching a scary movie, and Grant looks, well, like Grant.

Okay, i know that this doesn't exactly look like a day for a snow day from school, but let me give you an example. My mom asked me to get something from a neighbor right across the street, and it took me about 5 minutes to get there. Yep, the snow went up past my knees, almost to my waist. And okay ,I know I'm a bit height challenged, but everyone was having a hard time moving through it.

Happy Late Halloween! Yep, we have Pebbles, me, a Candy Corn Witch, Maddie, a Skeleton, Reid, and a Dragon, Grant. This year was pretty fun, but the best part was when Grant finally figured out the concept of Halloween. This was his famous line that night, "Come on guys! We have to get more candy! Hurry guys!" Or, all of those "hurries", were turned into, "Wait up guys! Wait for me to get my candy! Wait!"

Reid had a Pirate Performance at his school and it was really neat, once you were able to get the songs out of you head.

Okay, I know that everyone has heard of Christmas, but have you ever heard of Little Christmas? Well, when my mom went to Finland as an exchange student, they celebrated it. You celebrate it the first day of December and it is like a small Christmas before Christmas. It's pretty fun and we celebrate it every year. The writing on the cake means "Happy Little Christmas"

This is this year's Christmas tree, yep, candy themed. It's really cool, until you're hungry and then you can't go into that room without thinking, "just one bite, that's all........."

This is my mom's tree and like the bench, there are some rules......

  • NO touching the shiny, pretty ornaments that cost money(or the tree)

  • NO running by the tree

  • NO walking into the room where the tree is

  • NO looking at the tree

  • NO breathing on the tree

  • NO thinking about the tree

As you can see, it's amazing I even got a picture of it. Also, the same rules apply to the bench. I think that there must be some sort of pattern. You know, no touching the "nice" stuff".

This is the table setting for the "kids" table on Little Christmas. Compare the difference between this on and the "adult one" where 3 year old are sitting. Man, I guess once you hit 7, you start being considered as a "kid". Oh, and then once you turn 20, you are recognized as "elderly"! I finally see how the world goes round.

This is this year's nativity, and every year we have to do something nice and put a piece of hay on Jesus's manger so it's more comfy. So yep, I pretty much just put this picture up because it looks good.

NO NO BUNNY!

O.K., so we have these bunnies that come into our yard during the spring and summer and they kill the plants. Our solution? Well, the first option is to run and scream at them, but we prefer the other option. We have trained Grant to professionally yell at them. Yep, so anytime you need to scare someone or something, just call in Grant, he'd be happy to do it.

Funny Moments

Well, it has been a very fun and interesting summer. Between our family visiting us and the family trips, it really has been great. I thought that it might be nice to share some of our funniest memories that have happened.

No comment, I have absoulutly nothing to say.

Although it was against his will, we just couldn't leave the visitors center without him trying on the hair, I mean come on, it really does complete the look.

O.K.,you might not get why we put this picture up, but our Dad was tired of spending money in little things like haircuts, so Grant got, as we fondly call, "Mom Buzzed" He had a total buzz cut and it took several weeks before we stopped calling him Buzz.

I have no idea why he likes to dress up like a girl. Yet here he is, struttin' his stuff like he's ready to take on the fashion world.

Here are the hallaween costumes this year! Yep, we've all decided to be fairys. In fact, we're so into it, that we'll be taking a boombox around the neighborhood that is playing "Sugarplum Fairys".

Family, family, and even MORE family

Over about the past month, we've had our cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents over on my mom's side. We've done a lot of fun things and created a lot of memories. Here are just a few pictures that pretty much sum up what we've been doing.

Don't you just love those little face thingamagigs? Here's Maddie hitting a home run! ( Which is quite a shocker really, but IguessIshouldn't talk.)
Reid is what we call " our little pro baseball player," because unlike the rest of us, he's the only one who really has a chance of hitting a home run.

This year, our grandpa took us to the ROCKIES game! We got the best seats, right above the dugout! And every so often, a player would throw us a baseball. And guess what, he thru one right to Reid. I still can't believe it.

Here is me, Maddie, and Reid all sporting our baseball attire. Oh, and you see that bag I'm holding? Yep, well that held what I' d like to call " The Motherload!" Yep, we were chowing down loke we hadn't been fed in a week.

Maddie and I were playing around with the camera during the game, and I decided to upload this picture just to once again show Maddie's love for peace signs and all things good.

There was a ride at Vail called the bull ride. What it does is try buck you off its back by spinning and going up and down. We all went on it , except for Maddie. ( That, of course, is understandable considering that try not to get bucked off by a bull is on the top of most of our Things To Do Today) This is Grant trying to ride the bull, he was pretty bad stuff until he got on and started freaking out that he didn't even make it past level zero.

Well, unlike Mr. Chicken in front of me, I bravely rode the bull, and made it to level three!

Reid made it to about level two, although, even though we all know that he only made it to that level, he tries to boast that he surfed the bull.

Here we all are at a meet watching Maddie swim two lengths of the pool breaststroke. For her first year of swim team, she did pretty good! She was probably a little embaressed though, because of all of us whooping her on.

We found this really neat rock at Vail that overlooks the mountains, and we decided to take a picture. So if you're reading this and thinking that all Colorado is, is a giant square, it'll show you that the giant square has a lot to offer.

We rode up the mountain on a gondala. At the top of the mountain, there was a little observatory that named and talked about some of the mountains that Vail overlooked.

This is what a gondala looks like. ( Just a little help for those of you who are scratching your heads.)

This is Keystone where our fondest memeries will be of forgetting all of our luggage! We were about halfway there when we relized that we left our stuff at home. Even without our luggage though, we all had a fun time on the lake.

This is were most of our time was spent at Keystone.... the pool. We played a lot of games and just sort of chilled.

Just Another Day at the Pebbles

It was Mothers Day this Sunday and Mom hit the jackpot! A nice perfume kit! From Dad! Oh yea!
We'e decided to make book jackets for all of our scriptures, and as you can see, they really show our personalities. Try and guess who's is who's. The Mickey Mouse paper should be pretty easy.

Reid had to make a diarama for school and it was on the wombat! I helped him make it and it was pretty fun.

Madddie went to Bunk with the Beast at the Denver Zoo this week and she had a great time! We were all pretty worried about her though, even Grant kept saying, " Maddie, were Maddie go?"

I went to CU college up in Boulder Saturday with my friends Kaylee and Sarah. Sarah is the one who invited me and her brother goes to college there. We had a lot of fun and want to do something like this again soon!

Dad's Birthday, Easter, and more

We got a playset and it is the new thing for the Pebbles Family! Here is Grant climbimg the rock wall. We're afraid that one day he 's going to slip and , well, bye- bye Grant.
Grant doesn't really like the swings because if you notice, his feet can't reach the little holds. Oh well, he'll grow.

Maddie, Reid, Grant, and I all got hymm books, scripture masterys, and scripture markers.

For easter, Grant a little ball and bat set that he plays with ALL the time now.

Mom suprised one day after school and said that we could go to Mcdonalds and get a sundae. Yum! Thanks mom!!

It was dad's bithday and we (okay, okay, mom) decided to make him his favorite cake,( drumroll please) carrotcake!!!!!

Every year dad protestes that he WON'T wear the legandary birthday hat. Every year he wears it anyway. ( We sweet talk him into it) This year though, he was positive that he wouldn"t wear it. After a few promises and threats, he finally gave in. The kids have one another battle! (and mom)

Happy Birthday DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throughout the Easter Week, Mom decided to do a special lesson on Easter each night. One night, we made a LOVE ONE ANOTHER sign that had to be filled with nice sayings by the end of the week, it was pretty cool.

Another night we made little tombs out of food. They were really yummy!!!!

Spring Break

This past week was spring break. We didn't go on vacation, instead we had some special moments of our own right here. Everything from blizzards to getting a fish was happening right here at the Pebbles Family household.

This is what the storm made our yard look like . ( It may not look like much, but that is because it was the day after the snowstorm at about 3:00 when I took the picture and all the snow was starting to melt sooooo.......)

This is the snow that the neighbors across from us shoveled from their driveway.( Boy am I glad I didn't have to shovel our driveway because at 6:00 in the morning ,when it's like 6 degrees out, shoveling snow just isn't the picture I would've had in mind when thinking about Sring Break.)
We get the cars washed here every Saturday, and this Saturday wasn't any diffrent. ( Although I like having clean cars, why would we wash them when it is supposed to snow in TWO days? I guess the cars really needed a wash.)

My friend and I caught a ladybug when we went minni golfing. This ladies and gentlemen is Spotty.

This is Spotty's carefully desighned house that was built from twigs, leaves, ribbon, a jar, and rocks. Oh, and grass.

My friend Whitney andI went minni golfing and had the time of our lives! This is just one of those pictures that you take and just doesn't turn out but yet is pretty funny. We were showing each other the funniest faces we could make and then the flash went of and.... ugh.

Whitney putting the ball into the hole. Yep, it's pretty obvous who one the game.

OK, so we driving aroud because we had our floor getting worked and we had to be out of the house All DAY! We bought some Robin Eggs fromt eh store and gave Grant a blue one. 5 minutes later, he was out.

Isn't he cute when he is sleeping?

This is the fish that the family earned if we cleane the basement. Trust me though, it is not like we get a fish every time we work. Our dad owed us a fish and the basement was like nothing you have ever seen.9 Oh, we named the fish Snips.)

Whitney and I found a hole were you had to go through a cave. We found a Boo thingamagig on the wall an tried to be as scary as possible. I think we made the cut.

Whitney wanted to sit on the rock and I let her. I have to admit that she did do is on my part because I couldn't get her to fit in the whole picture when she was under the Boo thing.

Whitney and I.

We went to Dell Taco one day for lunch. Just thought that that might be important to incloud.

Maddie and Reid taught Grant how to pick his nose one day. He was quite fasinate by it and continued to do it the rest of the day. ( But he is way past that stage now. He has now mastered wiping it on others.
